Uncle Fester

Wild, crazy and fun! This is only a brief description for one of Long Island's premier bands. Covering many popular classic rock songs, Uncle Fester also performed many songs from their new CD, Sofa Kingdom.

They played the first set with impeccable timing and rhythm, and had the crowd dancing throughout most of it. The band is well rehearsed, and it shows as they captivated the audience, setting the tone with high quality drum and bass rhythms and excellent lead guitar. Crisp vocals with a good sense of pitch also enhanced the evening. The band has a knack of playing the music as it was meant to be, while putting their own blend of instrumentals, vocals, and style into each song and set.

The second set focused much on the new CD. The crowd responded fairly well to a new, unique style of music. This new album is original and is something completely different from what is normally heard on the radio. Bassist and lead vocalist Lil Stevie mentioned to the audience that there is music in the works for a movie entitled Hellementary, in which has an actual part. The CD's original offerings were well received as the dancing continued and ears were glued for the next tune.

The band takes playing serious enough to give a great time. The overall mood is fun, with Lil Stevie being whimsical, creative, and zany with a few jokes between songs. It is refreshing to hear local bands come up with their own music. It offers a wider variety of sounds, and keeps the night from being boring or dull. With Uncle Fester, there is hardly a dull moment, as audiences are entertained with good music, laughter, original music, and a glimpse of the band's personal photo scrapbook, covering many years and many of their fans.
